Equipment Need:

Foxwell GT80 MINI OBDII Bluetooth tablet Diagnostic Tool

Test Vehicle model and year:

Ford Focus 2013

Here is what I have done:

Connect GT80 MINI with vehicle, switch ignition on and power up GT80 MINI

Then click “Diagnostic” option on the main menu

Choose vehicle make: USA Ford

Automatic selection

Gt80 mini is communicating to vehicle, wait…

For a while, GT80 MINI will show you vehicle specification, check it and go next step

Choose “Auto scan” and wait…

Foxwell GT80 MINI Scanner will retrieve all fault codes automatically

You can see from the picture there has fault codes stored in ABS module, so click the ABS module and choose “Read codes”

The fault code was displayed on the screen

Go back to function menu and click “Erase codes” and follow the prompt to erase all codes.

Go back to “Select An Option” menu, choose “Control Unit”

Then the list is supported module, you can choose one of them and read/erase fault codes, read live data

GT80 MINI IS Very easy to use with, just need to follow the prompts as well as waiting for a little while, then you can clear all the stored DTCs forever!

Foxwell NT510 test 2003 VW Jetta ABS

I bought Foxwell NT510 scan tool to access the ABS system on my 2003 VW Jetta. I love this tool! I keep it in the car with me so I can demonstrate and suggest to others to buy one as well. I am totally amazed and how in depth this scanner can read and of all the extra features it can access in the VAG system. This is a MUST buy for anyone who owns a VW or Audi!

Here is a not-true feedback:

I run an independent repair shop. Bought this unit after already getting the foxwell only for abs and air bags, that unit works pretty good for the price. After researching the NT510 I found it would be a good basic unit for our quick scans. On the foxwell website as well as the amazon ad it lists it for over 60 makes for US. The Unit I received only works on VW/Audi and the box it came in reflected this as well. I would have never spent the time on this if I knew it were only for VW/Audi. Seller should be required to disclose this on the amazon ad.

Actually:

(Feedback) Foxwell NT510 ok on BMW register new battery, DPF regen and DEF emissions related tests

This a real story about Foxwell NT510 user’s feedback.

Pay for Foxwell NT510 and it can register a new battery yourself. Being able to do DPF regen, etc and other DEF and emissions related tests and inquiries is very much a bonus. It is overall a very capable tool and I am glad I bought it.

Another website does not support Foxwell NT510, except to register it online and then going through the Foxwell Scanner Software as well as some .pdf manuals. updated Foxwell Scanner software and Guide can be downloaded from that product page. BMW, OBDII, and OS-SOFTWARE Updates were available for my new device. You can not submit a Support Ticket using the Foxwell Scanner Software, because the required “Software” field does not list any drop down menu selections, and it is a required field. You have to go through Foxwell Tech website to submit a support ticket. There is a FoxwellTechShop.com website, which is the Foxwell Support Blog having lots of useful information

I do not like having to remove the micro-SD card (manual says it is CF, but it’s a micro-SD) in order to update the BMW software. The OBDII and OS-SOFTWARE updated without it, but it would have been nice to update the BMW with the supplied mini USB cable.

Personally speaking, the UI isn’t the most intuitive. Various menus scrolling limited to left and right arrows rather than up and down. Option settings start bottom right rather than upper left. Individual features require Enter to check box first, rather than using F3 after you scroll to an item. UI sometimes glitchy with brief freezes, and moving from menu (e.g. using Back) sometimes lags

(Experience) Foxwell NT510 for BMW, Mini and Toyota

I’m very interested in Foxwell NT510 scan tool to use for BMW and MINI. It looks like an excellent tool and I’m excited to see that it can read manufacturer-specific codes as well as perform a large number of Actuations/functions etc.

For the price, the Foxwell NT510 is worth buying for the powerful function it works:

can code a battery.

Can retract EPB’s, codes and graphs on top of retrieving BMW specific codes

Cleared almost all errors

Reads both OBDII codes and has all the functions of a BMW scan tool as well

Read a check engine light (VANOS) solenoid

Cleared the wear indicators on transmission and transfer case fluid after I changed them and helped me diagnose a few other things.

To pull up the live data for the coolant and pump, worked like a charm

Foxwell NT510 has more than paid for itself with airbag & service resets and pointing me towards a faulty vanos (problem gone)

Register ID and have BMW/MINI software:

After received Foxwell NT510, the menu is blank without BMW/Mini software, I was guided to download at foxwelltech.com, firstly I have to have one FOXWELL ID by using serial number and register password, then I could download the update by PC application, browse http://www.foxwelltech.com and go the Product page. Find your product model and click it to view the product profile. Select Download tab to download the PC application file. You could also go to your Member Center and select Registered Product. Click Software Details. You will find the link right on the top of the software.

Add a Toyota upgrade:

Foxwell NT510 Vs. Schwaben

I’ve also seen a similar product sold by ECS Tuning that they call the Schwaben (“by Foxwell”) Professional BMW/MINI Scan Tool. At the beginning, I have no ideal how is the ECS Tuning offering different from Foxwell nt510(e.g. do I purchase the nt510 for BMW then purchase an upgrade for MINI)?

Finally, I sort it out and hope this helps.

Similarities:
