This post is to scan 2005 USA Toyota 4RUNNER with Foxwell NT624 Scanner.
Vehicle Information:
USA Toyota 4Runner 2003 2UZ-FE
Purpose:
Diagnose including read and crease fault codes.
Foxwell scan tool to use:
Foxwell NT624 Scanner
The prons to use Foxwell NT624 Scanner:
1) It covers also other vehicles from other areas including Asia, Europe and USA.
2) It covers all electronic systems.
It is very suitable for garage environment.
Step-by-step procedure:
2) Choose area from Asia, Europe and USA
3) Choose “USA” then “Toyota”, then “4Runner”, then “Year” (From 1996 to 2016year), then “Engine Mode” (1GR-FE or 2UZ-FE)
4) Select “Auto scan” wait until it complete scan out fault shown as bellow.
5) Read codes
Exit the diagnostic program!

I have the VAG software module installed in my Foxwell NT510 scanner tool now and will be trying to do a mini review and posting this here
This is just to be another option for folks other than VCDS and the VAG401/405 tools. I have the VAG405 tool which is not bad, however, it DOES NOT provide Live/Realtime Data which IMHO is a BAD thing. I believe EVERY tool MUST provide Live/Realtime data.
So here is the good and bad.
The good, my 2003 VW is the primary car I had to deal with and it did not give me many problems that I needed in depth diagnostics for.
The not so good, the 2003 is now 1100 miles away and I will not likely see it for another 2 years. I hope it is somewhat trouble free.
The bad, without really having to use all the advanced features, it is VERY hard to determine if all the more advanced features actually work properly until you really need to use them. So you have to take things at face value and have a leap of faith that Foxwell has done their homework.
I do recall putting the car into some test mode where on or more of the solenoids were cycling so you could make sure each actuator/solenoid is actually working.
Granted you might be able to get VCDS up and running for close the price of the Foxwell , there is something good about a more universal tool that can support other models for 45GBP. It is also helpful that you could leave this tool in the car and it takes up very little space. If you had a dedicated computer for VCDS, I assume you could do this as well.
Unclear if the Foxwell is better than the VAG401 or if they are similiar?? Obviously the VAG401 is much cheaper, but I know the Foxwell has had a number of updates, usually every 3 months or so to add features and/or correct bugs.

Good first impressions. Needed a more specialized scanner to have in handy and not to run to the greedy dealership for basic (and more advanced) things. This VAG scanner seems to be working well. It is updated for even the latest VW models (I saw the 2016 models listed). It took me not more than 2-3 minutes to get rid of annoying horn beep when locking and unlocking the car and a pesky airbag light, which I had tried to switch off using multiple approaches. Anyway, if you have a VW or Audi, this tool is a “must have”. Simple to use and navigate, and it pays off for itself the very first two times you use it.
Foxwell NT630 ABS Airbag Reset Tool feedback on Subaru:
Purchased to read Subaru SRS codes, and it has worked on 3 different models so far, and 2 Pontiac’s. The live data is what you would expect. Being able to store codes on the included flash disc is quite nice. I registered it immediately, and was pleasantly surprised that the software was already up to date!
Not good:
Not enough brightness of the screen for daytime working. No brightness adjustment feature. Although pretty nice device, but this basic drawback prevents me to enjoy working with it.

Hi, I am interested in the NT624 multi brand all systems scanner. The cars I own at present are a 2010 dodge caravan, a 1998 Suzuki Swift and a 1985 BMW 318i. ( I have a service light reset tool for the BMW already and I am not sure a scanning tool works on this model?).

Hi Grace, I have done some homework and think that the AutoMaster Pro NT414 All Brand Vehicle Four System Diagnostic Tool Is probably better suited to my needs. Just a few questions though. If I was to plug into a vehicle that was OBDII, that wasn’t supported on your vehicle menu, would I still get some generic readings from that vehicle? Also the updates seem a bit pricey for a hobby mechanic if it needs to be done every year. My understanding is that I can update whenever I like for $100 and that gives me a year of updates. Is that correct?

Generally speaking, it will support most cars with OBDII to read the generic data. And you can enjoy 18 months free updating with NT414, after that 100USD/year and of course, you can update it whenever you like.

Foxwell AutoMaster Pro NT414 works fine on my 2010 Chrysler.
1999 Jaguar S type goes into Failsafe Engine Mode, Plugged in the NT414 scanner hey presto a list of error codes and their translations! Perfect – off to buy a new pedal position sensor.
Also has worked on Jaguar ABS, Peugeot Auto Gearbox, Toyota airbag, early Zafira Diesel engine codes.
Besides, reset the oil change reminder on 2015 Porsche Macan, OK.

Here is a real customer feedback on Foxwell NT510 Scanner. The user has tested NT510 on some BMW, Ford, Chevy / GM models to auto VIN, auto scan, and some other diagnosis.
“So far I have had good success with BMW.
— BMW:
So far all BMW’s supported auto vin & autoscan, was able to get a quick easy accurate report of issues.
2006 BMW X3:
Was able to find 2 misfires because of bad plugs.
2009 BMW z4:
Was able to diagnose and find bad HAL sensors stopping the roof from retracting
— Ford:
Not to many test subjects yet, auto vin did not work, had to manually pick the truck
2002 F250 XLT:
After manually picking the truck the autoscan worked. This truck doesn’t have to many systems but I was able to see all appropriate data, clear warnings etc.
— Chevy / GM:
Having a little bit of an issue here.
Testing on a 2012 Avalanche LTZ:
Autovin did not work, I had to pick the truck manually.
Ran an autoscan and a bunch or fault codes did show up from the scan. However none of the codes appeared to be correct. I was not expecting to get any codes on this truck. It was telling me things like the driver door window switch was faulty, but it definitely works. From there when I tried to display and or clear the code the scanner froze. I let it sit for 10 mins nothing happened. I had to power it off. Going back in I manually selected just the device that was throwing codes, however when scanning it directly nothing was detected. When I did an autoscan again the same codes appeared, and again the device froze making it a brick.”

I Managed to use Foxwell NT630 ABS and airbag reset tool to reset the airbag on truck GMC the 2005 year.
Kindly notice:
The option of airbag reset can be displayed after selecting models;
No button related on the device or function in the main menu interface

No issues on GMC-2005 airbag now!
ps. with Foxwell NT630 English, the options should be kind of different
….
-> base radio
-> CJ2 dual zone HVAC auto
-> supplemental inflatable restraint (this is the option of airbag reset)
